Abstract
This paper describes the process of computer image analysis to detect ship for augmented reality based navigational system, which is a navigational information displaying device/system that can overlay navigational information upon the real camera image in a single display. There are too many obstacles and noises to detect ship object clearly in sea environment, especially wave, wake, sun-reflection or floating other objects disrupt computer image processing. Therefore we use additional location data which is retrieved from AIS device to enhance the detecting performance.
