Abstract
Copyright in the digital age is both threatened and renewed by technical developments.Cultural heritage finds an opportunity to be widely accessible;authors and editors may broadly distribute music,films,books and multimedia in new formats.However,technique does not only favour piracy and provides at the same time electronic Intellectual Property Rights management tools. This paper proposes to lead a general legal overview on provisional and digital solutions to protect copyrighted works.After a recall of the legal regulation framework,the different ways to protect a work will be described,as well as the legal conditions for Digital Rights Management systems validity and efficiency. Finally,we may wonder how this new type of private regulation fits in with traditional public regulation in IPR area.
