Abstract
To build an experimental platform for wireless sensor networks based on 802.11 high rate data transmission protocol, AODV-UU and DSR-UU high rate routing protocols are implemented on the Smart210 development board with embedded Linux operating systems in this paper. In a real static environment, the average end to end delay, packet loss rate and throughput of the network system are tested and compared while the multi-hop networks are set up. The comparison shows that AODV-UU has particular application value for building a dynamic, robust and high performance wireless sensor network. The hardware platform with embedded system has advanced ARM CortexTM-A8 kernel. This platform is very efficient and flexible, simple and easy to develop. As embedded devices are widely used in many fields, the work that we implement wireless sensor network system by transplanting routing protocols with high rate data transmission ability on embedded Linux system, will have great guiding significance for embedded application of wireless sensor networks in future.
